Feel the sniffles coming on? Are your muscles suddenly tender? Did you wake up with a scratchy red throat? All possible. Coronavirus doesn’t mean that cold season is any less prominent. Cold season is approaching quickly. In fact, I would even say that it’s already launched its soft opening.
Here are the most easy and effective ways to stop an oncoming cold in its tracks, or at the very least reduce its unforgiving effects.
#1 Take Advantage of Pumpkin Season
I don’t mean go order 10 large pumpkin spice lattes, but if a local eatery is offering roasted pumpkin soup...why not? Pumpkins are full of antioxidants and vitamins A & C. If you’ve been feeling an oncoming cold, it would be foolish not to take advantage of pumpkin season right now.
#2 SLEEP
#3 Honey & Lemon
Skip the coffee; caffeine dehydrates, which will only add to your icky sicky feeling. Instead boil hot water, add honey and lemon, and be on with your day. The honey soothes your throat while the lemon acts as a natural antiseptic — what a balancing act. It also tastes like a warm lemonade tea, yum! Really though, stay hydrated.
