“Love, Actually” is trash (1/5)

First of all, the movie tells the stories of multiple people using pastiches. I hate the pastiche trope. Instead of devoting a full runtime to fully developing one story, it splits this time between a handful of stories so none of them are compelling or fleshed out. Secondly, “Love, Actually” is full of stereotypes, toxic behavior, and fat-shaming. None of that is endearing or cute. Rick Grimes showing up at a married woman’s house to declare his love for her is not a cute display of hopeless romanticism — it’s manipulative and inappropriate.
